A small slender bee-eater with very long central tail streamers.
Distribution
Africa:
Western Africa: Democratic Republic of Congo
Eastern Africa: Tanzania, Zambia, Mozambique, Malawi
Southern Africa: Zimbabwe
Taxonomy
This is a monotypic species[1].
Habitat
Open areas in broadleafed woodland, usually near water.
Behaviour
The diet includes insects, especially bees, wasps and hornets, which are caught in the air.
