Taxonomy

Subspecies

There are two subspecies^[1]:

• B. c. charmosyna:

• Southern South Sudan, Ethiopia, Somalia, northeastern Uganda, and northern and eastern Kenya

• B. c. kiwanukae:

• Southern Kenya to extreme northern Tanzania

Habitat

Dry thorn scrub, usually on the ground in cover.
