Southeast Asia: Laos, Cambodia, Thailand, and Java.

Taxonomy

This species formerly included Annam Prinia and Burmese Prinia.

Subspecies

Two subspecies are recognized[1].

  • P. p. polychroa:

Habitat

Dry scrubby grassland and undergrowth at forest edges.

Behaviour

Diet

They forage low down near, or on the ground, for insects and their larvae. Usually seen singly or in pairs.

Breeding

Their nest is a dome made from grass, usually placed near the ground.
