  • Black upper parts, sides of head and chin
  • Variable small white mark or bar on fore-crown
  • White outer tail feathers and cheeks
  • Remainder of underparts white

Distribution

Indonesia: found on Boano Island (south Moluccas)

Taxonomy

This is a monotypic species[1].
Formerly placed in genus Monarcha.

Habitat

Moist lowland forests and shrubland.

Diet

The diet includes insects.

Vocalisation

Voice: Clear tjuuu-tjuuu, immediately followed by a soft, buzzing trill that fades out.
