Identification

14 cm (5½)

  • Yellow-green overall plumage
  • Dusky lores
  • Yellower on throat and undertail
  • Brown iris

Distribution

South America: found locally in humid Western Andes of Colombia and north-western Ecuador

Taxonomy

This is a monotypic species[1].

Habitat

Wet mossy forest, forest edges and clearings with tall trees. Usually at heights around 500–1050 m.

Behaviour

Diet

Their diet consists of fruit (particularly figs), flowers and insects.
