Spartonoica maluroides

Identification

12–13 cm

  • Bright rufous cap
  • Brown upperparts
  • Buffy underparts
  • Long brown tail
  • Horn coloured legs

Variation

Birds from coastal salt marshes seems to be darker with different bill shape compared to those of inland marshes

Distribution

Extreme southern Brazil to Uruguay and central Argentina

This is a monotypic species[1].
