Identification
Distribution
Eastern Nicaragua to eastern Costa Rica and northwestern Panama (western Bocas del Toro).
Taxonomy
This is a monotypic species.
Formerly considered conspecific with Isthmian Wren and Canebrake Wren under the name Plain Wren.
Was formerly placed in genus Thryothorus like all other species of the genus Cantorchilus.
Habitat
Lowland subtropical or tropical dry forests, subtropical or tropical moist forests, and heavily degraded former forest.
