There are 2 subspecies[1]:

- C. f. fasciatus:
- Arid western Peru (southern Piura to Huánuco and northern Lima)
Habitat
Can be found at both low and high level sub-tropical and tropical areas of dry and moist forests, also in coastal shrub.
Behaviour
This large wren is noisy and very energetic.
