Thryothorus felix

Identification

12·5–14 cm (5-5½ in); A medium-sized wren

  • White supercilium
  • Black and white flecked face and neck
  • Rufous crown and upper back

Distribution

Endemic to western Mexico, from Sonora south to Oaxaca.

Taxonomy

Was formerly placed in genus Thryothorus with all other species of the genus Pheugopedius.

Subspecies

Six subspecies are recognized[1]:

  • P. f. sonorae:#
  • Pacific slope of north-western Mexico (southern Sonora to northern Sinaloa)
  • P. f. pallidus:
