Overview
Long Point is a large spit of land in the shape of an "L" that juts into the north-east shore of Lake Erie in Ontario.

Notable Species
In the spring, it is one of the best sites in Ontario for viewing all migrant species, but particular Warblers. Tired out after making the long crossing of Lake Erie, they look for a promising place to rest and recuperate.
The Long Point Bird Observatory is such a place. It is a relatively small plot of land located approximately at the northern edge of the "L", and is a significant migrant trap. Even on a "bad" day, many species of warblers can be seen at this location.
Birding Prognosis: This information is from a trip I made on May 19th. Even though I was told it was a "bad" day, I still saw Yellow-Rumped Warbler, Yellow Warbler, Chestnut-Sided Warbler, Worm-Eating Warbler, Magnolia Warbler, and Canada Warbler at the LPBO. If you're lucky enough to arrive on a "fallout" day, I'm told the trees are practically dripping with warblers.

Banding operations occur here, and visitors are welcome to bird the grounds.
Areas of Interest
Slightly to the north of this location, along the causeway, are marshes where typical marsh species can be seen. Several observation towers were build to provide an overview of the marsh, and it can be birded by walking the berms around it.
To the south of the LPBO, towards the "tip" of the "L", Long Point Provincial Park provides another good birding location, plus a cheap place to pitch a tent for a multi-day stay.
