Identification
13·5–14·5 cm (5¼-5¾ in)
As the name suggests, a rather plain grey finch
- Pinkish-orange conical bill
Male has grey overall plumage, darker wings and paler underparts
Female: is streaked brown
Similar Species
Band-tailed Seedeater has white in the wings and tail, lacking in the Plain-colored Seedeater. No other seedeater in the area has a pink bill.
Distribution
South America: found in Colombia, Venezuela, Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia, Argentina
