Long down-curved bill, black head with a patch of crimson and white patch near the shoulder.
Distribution
Semiarid lowlands of India and Pakistan.
Taxonomy
This is a monotypic species[1].
Habitat
Lakes, marshes, riverbeds and irrigated farmland. India and Pakistan
Behaviour
Breeding
It nests in trees.
Diet
Their diet consists of fish, frogs, lizards, crustaceans, also earthworms, scorpions and beetles.
