Identification
Length 13-14 cm (5-5½ in)
A small lark with a short bill and white outer-tail feathers (latter obvious in flight).
Distribution
Northern Africa and southern Asia:
Western Africa: Mauritania, The Gambia Guinea, Mali, Burkina Faso, Ghana, Cameroon, Equatorial Guinea
Eastern Africa: Eritrea, Ethiopia, Kenya
Middle East: Arabian Peninsula
Asia: India, Western Himalayas, Bangladesh, Melanesia

Habitat
Short grassland with bushes and cultivated ares.
