Identification

  • Greyish-brown crown
  • Olive upperparts
  • White supraloral spot
  • White eyering
  • Dark striped white throat
  • Yellow underparts

Distribution

South America: found in Colombia, Peru, Bolivia and Brazil.

Taxonomy

Subspecies

There are 2 subspecies[1]:

  • H. s. striaticollis:
North East Colombia and north-eastern Peru to northern Bolivia, central and eastern Brazil
  • H. s. griseiceps:
  • West-central Brazil (lower Rio Tapajós in eastern Pará)

Habitat

Humid secondary woodland, low thickets and riparian growth.

Diet

They forage alone or in pairs for insects.
