Identification
14.5cm. A little-known species from New Guinea:
- Slaty grey crown
- Greyish-brown ear-coverts
- Olive-green upperparts and tail
- Greyish-white throat
- Pale buffy-grey breast forming an obscure band
- Pale sulphur-yellow belly and undertail-coverts
- Brown eye
- Black bill
Sexes alike, juveniles undescribed.
Distribution
Endemic to Vogelkop (Arfak Mountains and Tamrau Mountains) in West Papua, Indonesia.
Seems to be common in its very small range.
Taxonomy
Monotypic.
Habitat
Moist montanes. Found at 970 - 1450m.
Behaviour
No information about diet and breeding. Has been seen hover-gleaning.
Probably a resident species.
