South Asia: India, Eastern and Western Himalayas, Bhutan, Japan, Hong Kong
Southeast Asia: Indochina, Myanmar, Laos, Vietnam, Thailand

Taxonomy

Placed in the genus Machlolophus by Gill and Donsker.
