Birds from Saskatoon, Canada (wrens I think)

The first bird I am pretty sure is a house wren. The other 2 pictures were from a different spot and it also looks like a wren but I think it may be a winter wren - no barring on the sides and somewhat mottled. As always, any help is appreciated

This series dates from late May a couple of years ago. I misidentified them as stilt sandpipers, but looking again I am sure that is wrong. There is a yellowlegs in the first photo for scale. Photos are from the shore of Amisk Lake

    Hummingbird Mazatlan Mexico

So this afternoon, no camera or binoculars and I see this busy little hummingbird that really struck me because of its russet colouring. Now the weather has been crazy this year. Is it totally impossible that what I saw was Allen’s hummingbird. I think rufous is even more unlikely. Thanks as...

Couple of birds from Saskatoon, Canada

The first of these I initially thought was an American Robin from the back but I am puzzled by the white speckles. Is it perhaps some sort of thrush? The second one I am guessing is a clay coloured sparrow. As always, help appreciated

    Bird by the sea (Mazatlan)

Here is one from December 2015 which had slipped through the cracks (should have posted it months ago) Mazatlan has a coastline which is a mixture of sandy beaches and rocks. Usually quite a lot of wave action but sometimes pretty calm, as in this photo. The legs on this bird seem to be far...
