    Yes, a red crown. All other pictures of Eurasian Bullfinches I am able to find are showing all black caps, no red crowns.

    Checking some old pictures from May 2018 I found this shot of an Eurasian Bullfinch with a somewhat strange head pattern. Any ideas? Could this be a hybrid? Unfortunately, I only have this one shot. Regards, Johannes

    Yellow Wagtail hybrid, Romania near Buzău, end of last April

    I read some older threads on Yellow Wagtails in Romania and this could be a hybrid flava x feldegg. On the other hand there is some yellow in the cap which doesn't fit in. Any thoughts on this?

    That's right! The bird is backlit and very dark against the sky in the original shot. I lightened it considerably in post processing to make the underwing details visible.

    Here is another raptor from that area. Raptors keep giving me trouble, but I assume this is a Booted eagle? Seems it did catch a lizard.
