With the recent price hikes, my spotting scope set-up now lists for $6,077. Yikes.

Glad I bought my 8X42 EL Range TA’s and ATX 85mm Interior Set-Up last year. From what I can tell I saved $500 just on the spotting package and I think $300+ on the bins.

Apple + Mag Views' Answer to the BTX or Any Long Duration Viewing

While I've used the BTX on board a 115 and 85, I just don't like it. It 1. eliminates zoom, 2. is massive, 3. looks like a weather station, 4. costs the same as a good electric bike, and 5. offers some eyestrain relief for folks untrained by say law enforcement or the military in using a single...

Has build quality diminished? Optics are superb but the housing, focus, . . .

As I order a pair of NL Pure 8X32, I once again find myself worried about build quality. Years ago beginning with a task-force in state law enforcement, I had a pair of Zeiss 7X50 Marines that lived on my dash-board, they were alphas in their own right. I have never seen anything since...

    NL Pure 8X32 / 8X42

Only the exit pupil diameter makes an argument for the NL Pure 8X42 (5.3mm vs. 4mm), the 8X42 FOV is only 27’ more at 477‘ w/the 8X42, and the 8X32 even has a touch more transmission. What am I missing before before I drop the 8X32 in a jacket pocket?

Get Your Zoom Back! Eye Fatigue Can Be Mitigated

BTX: I've just read yet another comment regarding the relative superior comfort of the BTX over the ATX and STX particularly regarding eye fatigue when trying to observe for prolonged periods of time. Be strategic and train your eye. For the most part I would respectfully suggested that...

ATX Interior Spotting Scope 25-60x 85mm Brown with Tripod Head and Wooden Tripod Ordered

Today I ordered the Swarovski ATX Interior Spotting Scope 25-60x 85mm Angled Body Brown with Tripod Head and Wooden Tripod for my cabin in Big Lake, Alaska, shipping to Alaska was $82 (arrives Thursday). Can you please confirm this is merely a normal ATX system spotting scope with the special...

EL Range TA 8X42 - Layman Review

Yesterday I received the EL Range TA (Tracking Assistant) I ordered over the weekend and except for the price ($3,599) I am overwhelmingly pleased. Optically it is everything I had hoped for, really the optical equal of the EL 8.5x42. Maybe barely not quite as bright as the NL and certainly...

EL Range With TA 8X42 Optics Parity

Just ordered the EL Range with TA in 8X42 for gulp $3,599. Due Wednesday. In Alaska I wanted the robustness, tracking assistant feature, and the temperature and angle sensors(If you can determine the pitch of a mountain side you can somewhat predict avalanches). Can those with Experience with...

Are the Swarovski EL Range RF’s that are designed for hunting any more robust than Swarovski bins designed for birding?

Are the Swarovski EL Range RF’s any more robust than NL’s being designed for hunting? I just damaged another pair of bins while briefly living on an 80’ fishing schooner and the bins banging around from boat to boat. This time I knocked off an eye cup, and shed one of the tracking stems that...

    Swarovski ATX 115 Review

The Swarovski ATX, 115 spotting scope comes with a crystal-clear view. Outstanding snap-to focusing reminiscent of the NL Pure binocular, and very high brightness for this kind of magnification. First time viewers so far have all been pretty awe-struck by the image in this scope. Loves...

    ATX 115 Digiscoping Elementary Questions

Beginner questions. As you can see in the last picture, the iPhone Pro Max can take sharp pics for not being a dedicated camera. Thing is, while looking through the big 115 ATX scope was a borderline religious experience, the iPhone 11 Pro Max pics are all out of focus and the light isn’t...

Are you using the PCT (Professional Carbon Tripod) and PTH (Professional Tripod Head) with 95 or 115 Objective?

First, thank you to this sub-forum for your patience in my small flurry of posts over the past week and my lack of subject-matter knowledge as I prepare for the arrival of the 115 objective and ATX tomorrow. Also, thanks to the seller as I've again posted a picture he took and posted with his...

Do I need the balance rail? I already had one ATX 115 user say he had the balance rail but returned it because it was flimsy.

ATX 115 w/1.6X and CTH Head On Order - Couple of Questions

I kicked around getting a 15X second pair of binoculars to go with my 8X42 NL Pure. I solved my need for higher magnification with the nuclear option. The amazing Swarovski ATX 115. Picture is from the internet since I don't expect delivery until next week. Also have the 1.6X extender but...

Is the image quality of an EL Range TA equal to other EL 42’s; or is there compromise from the electronics?

If you’ve looked through these: Is the image quality of an EL Range TA equal to other EL 42’s; or is there compromise from the electronics? Thanks!

NL Pure Focus Wheel Seems To Have Less Resistance Than March 18 Purchase Date

Anyone experience a loosening of their focus wheel on an NL Pure? it may just be that the wheel so much freer than others I have had such as NVD. Functions fine. UPDATE: I may have fooled myself. At one point today I thought my NL Pure’s focus wheel was loosening up. Then it occurred to me...

Higher Companion Magnification To The 8X42 NL Pure - 12X42 NL Pure?

As we prepare to go to the Alaskan wilderness May 1 on six wheelers for nature viewing, I am kicking around the purchase of 12X42 NL's to accompany the 8X42 NL's I already have for the extra reach. I've looked at the 15X56, and for the 12X stability (especially with the forehead stamp)...

Good grief, can someone tell me the secret to getting the little NLPure FP strap attachment back on?

Good grief, can someone tell me the secret to getting the little NLPure FP strap attachment back on? I press down and turn counterclockwise to get it off with ease; now, I can’t get it to take in the opposite direction. On a positive note, the NL Pures fit in the cargo pocket of a large Sitka...

Would It Live Up To Mr. Vines' Adjectives? NL Pure 8X42

I wanted to order in October, but NZbinodude posted numerous issues with his sample and it spooked me. A big influence on my NL Pure purchase were the endless number of reviews already published where, like Roger Vines review, descriptions of the Pure's image included many superlatives...

Loss of light transmission w/Zeiss Victory RF Laser Rangefinding Binocular

As many of you know, the Victory RF Laser Rangefinding Binocular is an HT w/added electronics that are remarkable. The optics seem great, but of course there is a loss of light transmission when compared to a non-RF HT. Does anyone know what that loss is in transmission? For example, if a...

10X42 NL Pure - Holy Moly

I finally spent the afternoon with a 10X42 NL Pure and a 10X42 EL. I'll make this relatively quick. The NL Pure is brighter, has more contrast, the FOV slaps you, and then when you go back to the EL slaps you again for the loss. The level of detail is impressive, and almost as importantly...

    New 8X54 HT "Blem"

New 8X54 HT "Blem" for $1,496.52 For weeks I've watched midwayusa.com and a pair of 8X54 HT's drop in price every Friday. At 12:20 a.m. Friday U.S. Central Time they dropped to $1,496.52 and I couldn't key my credit card in fast enough as every one knows Friday is their price reduction night...

    Noctivid 8X42 Killed Purchase

Today I went to the Anchorage Bass Pro as the Swaro EL 8.5X42 has been dropped to $2,149 and they had them in stock. Everyone else in Alaska seems to only carry the EL 10X42. Respectfully, to me the Swaro’s were not as crisp, as bright, or as warm/saturated. And, the focus wheel had more...

Imagine in 2026 your Alpha Leica’s have instant hyper accurate AF, advanced multi-axis image stabilization, a push with your pinky to capture a 172 mp hyper-resolution image, and an instant read-out available across the bottom of your view telling you the sub-species and sex of the bird the...

Loss Of Brightness With 8X42 RF (HT)

I know I will lose some image brightness between an HT Zeiss 8X42 and the HT based Victory RF Laser Rangefinder. It used to be a significant loss with the FL’s. Now with the new HT based redesign that’s been out a number of months how perceptible is the difference? I am not a hunter but...
