    Black-casqued Hornbill - Cape Point

I was in The Gambia last week and was very surprised to see a Black-casqued Hornbill, a beast of a bird. It seems the first record was in October 2018 and, to my knowledge, this is only the 3rd sighting of what I presume to be the same bird. Does anyone have any thoughts? Genuine vagrant?

    Two From The Gambia

These 2 species have had me scratching my head. I think I know what they are and if so, one would be a tick. I'm fairly sure the weaver is common but the eye colour is confusing me. Both taken in February this year at Abuko. Any help would be appreciated.

    Flycatcher, Sammy's Point, Spurn 14/10/16

Many birders would have seen this bird at Spurn on Friday and ticked it as a Pied though subsequent research and comments suggest it's a Collared. The bird was present until 5pm not far from the carpark, this shot was taken just before 11am. Thoughts and armchair ticks welcome!

Tawny Owl 'Makes Nest' in T-Rex

I saw this on BBC this morning and thought it was worth sharing. As for making a nest, well, that's just the usual journalism when it comes to anything bird-wise! Great shot nonetheless. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/picturegalleries/earth/11275456/Animal-photos-of-the-week.html?frame=3116986

    Opticron After Sales Service

My g/f bought a pair of Opticron Oregon binos a few years ago for a trip to Kenya. We're off to The Gambia soon and she was complaining about the eyecup being loose. Two of the screws had fallen out so I phoned Opticron to see if they had them in stock. Two days later a new set arrived, the...

    Indian Mysteries

I'm struggling to find anything like the first bird in Birds of the Indian Subcontinent but it can't be rare as I saw 2 birds 300km apart. From memory it's about the size of a large chat. Eats Shoots & Flies

Hi All, I'm curious to find out more about the diet of one of my favourite birds, Bohemian Waxwing. Wet Rock Pipit? Norfolk

I took these photos at Thornham Creek on Feb 12th and presumed it was a Rock Pipit although there are a few features that don't quite fit, also the habitat isn't quite right. I briefly considered rubescens but the bill looks too sturdy and the wing coverts aren't particularly well marked. With...
