RICHARD RICHARDSON — Did you know him?

Lovely story Penny. I remember Richard well. Spent many a happy hour in the early 1970's sat with him on the East Bank at Cley. He was a lovely chap with an incredible eye for spotting birds, and he was a fountain of knowledge about birds. Richard

Ah, but are we sure it was a hoax? As I've said earlier lets see if the record of the thrush is submitted.

Just seen on Twitter that TillSmith says he lives not far from Skegness, and that he is going away on a birding trip for 3 weeks so will not be tweeting. Oh well bit of excitement while it lasted.

    Eyebrowed Thrush in Norolk

That is an interesting and valid point. But it could be it made land at Hunstanton and in its initial search for food found a good supply of berries in a garden close to the cliff tops, and although spending most time in the open returned there occasionally, where it knew it had a ready food supply.

Sorry not guilty. Seriously, latest pronouncement from TillSmith:- "Well most people may think its a hoax. I assure you its not. I am not surprised that people think it is one. Hoaxes are common place now." What we need to know from TillSmith is: "Is he going to formally submit the record? If he...

Golf course? If it was in the lighthouse area and apparently seen on the golf course it makes you wonder if the sighting was on the pitch and putt course adajacent to the lighthouse. It all depends how you want to define golf course. Pitch and putt course is really a golf course in miniature.

On twitter Bob Tag was asking which road was it in, so that right general area can be searched, seems TillSmith must have been answering that.

??? TillSmith 15 mins ago:- "It was in the lighthouse area. PH36." What does he mean? Is the lighthouse area where the garden is near to, and what is PH36 anyone? The plot thickens.

Update Latest from TillSmith:- "I would love to see other birders to get chance of seeing the bird. But the owner of the garden doesn't want any disturbance." and "I have asked the owner twice for access. So far the bird hasn't been seen today. Could may have well disappeared. Last seen in...

Golf course See www.hunstantongolfclub.com/ for details of the course. I imagine that at weekends, assuming decent weather, the golf course would be very busy, especially if there was a competition on, so there would be considerable disturbance. I presume the course can be viewed from the...
