    Having a white tail, it can't be anything other than a White Stork. I think it's the angle of the shot which makes the black secondaries look short.

    The Nikon V1/V2 (£350/£650) or some of the Nikon Coolpix P-series should do you fine. Take a look around the board for recommendations for Coolpix's. The Sony RX100 II is also a good camera but doesn't have a thread fit.
