    Saw these two kinds of birds today at Merritt Island NWR and would appreciate some help with proper IDs. The white bird was diving into shallow water. I suppose the others are grackles of some sort.

    I saw this hawk atop a church today and was hoping for an ID. The bird was a long way away and the photo is heavily cropped so the photo isn't as sharp as I had hoped. I'm guessing Red-tailed but it seemed more heavily marked than I'm accustomed to seeing around here.

    Egret/Heron

    The Orlando Sentinel newspaper identified this bird as a snowy egret however it does not appear to me to be a snowy egret. My best guess is a white morph of a great blue heron, however, I would gladly welcome a correction. The location is the Wekiva River area in central Florida.
