    Buzzard (?), Cornwall, UK. 18th May 2014

Hi all, Whilst paying a visit to Lands End on Sunday 18th May I noticed a very low flying Raptor being mobbed by a Herring gull flying West to East along the cliff line. Initially I didn't pay much attention thinking it to be just a Buzzard, but as it got closer and after first seeing it...

Marsh or Willow Tit, 23rd February 2007. Moore Nature Reserve, Cheshire, England.

This little guy had me going. Personally I think it's a Willow Tit, for the following reasons. - Pale Wing 'bar' - Looks a bit 'bull-headed' to me - I'm not lucky enough for it to be Marsh :-) Reasons it could be Marsh -Was feeding from a bird table (Collins say thats a guide, but I think it's...

    Pipit, North Wales, 20th January

Good afternoon good people of Birdforum I saw this Pipit today, and it started a lenghty discussion between the 5 or so of us who saw it. I think it's a Rock Pipit. There plenty of Meadow Pipit around and this bird was much dark. It was feeding along the edge of the water, amongst rocks and...

Camera for use with Nikon 80mm Spotting scope

Hi folks, I have searched the forum but can't find any threads, i'm not sure there are many of using NMikon spotting scopes. I currently use a Nikon 80mm angled spotting scope with my canon S45 digi-compact and a Baader adapter to hold the camera in place. Just recently the trusty Canon has...

    Which Small Wader?

I'm hoping for a Curlew Sandpiper here, but every other picture I see throws it in to doubt. Larger than Dunlins, significantly smaller than Redshank. Looked a dumpier and more well built bird than a Dunlin. Pure White under wings. Black legs. Long Decurved bill. Strong white supercilium...

    Which Gull?

I'm hoping for Yellow-Legged Gull, but i'm not 100% convinced. A few (more experienced, I think) birders pointed this out as a Y-L Gull, but Im not conviinced, I think the Mantle is too dark, and a lack of spots on the primaries make me think it's just a 'light' Lesser black backed. it did...

    Lesser Black Backed Gull?

Is this a Lesser Black backed gull? Sorry about the over-exposure, it misses out the head/eye detail. I was concentrating too much on taking a picture and not making notes so I can't add anything other than 'It's the size of a Herring Gull, or there abouts' Thanks Wally

    Wader

Can anybody ID this wader? Significantly smaller than the Ruff it was with, green legs, seemed to have the same manerisms as a Ruff, i.e. the way it walked, fed and stood. Sadly i did not see it fly. Is it a Juvenile Ruff? Do they start out with Green legs? Pic1, Bird on it's own Pic2, Bird...

    Duck help

Folks, I think the first pic is of a Teal and the second a Garganey, both Male in Eclipse. Can anybody verify this? Sorry about the first pic, they insisted on sticking their heads in the water just as i was taking the pic, these are the best i have. Thanks Wally

    Avian Digimaster II

Hi Guys, what's your view on the Digimaster? I have been taking Digi-Scoped pictures using my Canon S45 and Nikon 80mm Spotting Scope for a while now, but am getting frustrated by the number of shots i am missing by not having the camera readily at hand, lined up and ready for focusing etc...
