    Hawke Endurance 8x56 binoculars

No but if you send me a pair I'd be happy to! Sent from my VOG-L09 using Tapatalk

    Stock dove

Um....yes...er well done you've both passed the test... Seriously though an important diagnostic lesson here to consider all of the bird and not be fixated by one part - i.e. the dark eyes lacking a white ring. Now, I've got a black woodpecker in my back garden if you Ignore the red. And the...

    Stock dove

OK, not a mega rarity but a nice garden tick when I opened the blinds this morning. Could only grab a couple of quick snaps with my mobile. Sent from my VOG-L09 using Tapatalk

    Hawke Endurance 8x56 binoculars

Many years ago, I had a pair of Hawke Prostalk 8x56 which were superb. A burgeoning family meant that a new pushchair was required in a bit of a hurry so something had to give...and I've regretted it every day since. Every. Day. Fast forward to this year and a significant birthday loomed. The...

    Prostalk ED 8x56

I really regret having sold my Prostalks the year before last. I'm in the market for some more now but they don't seem to be produced anymore. I've seen the Barr & Stroud Savannah 8x56 which look similar. Has anyone had any experience of both? How do they compare? Thank you.

Anyone know the cost of replacing an objective lens?

You may have some kind of accidental damage cover under your house contents policy? The excess might well very less than the cost of repairs. Might be worth exploring.

iPhone adapter for Kowa spotting scopes and bins

Not all that difficult. I've done it the past, both with birds and with planets from an astronomical scope. Certainly beats paying £60 for A piece of plastic! They must think that the buying public are a bit simple to charge that price. Still, a fool and his money....

iPhone adapter for Kowa spotting scopes and bins

£60!!!!! For a piece of shaped plastic?!? I sincerely hope you got yours for free. It would be just as good, and cheaper, to hold your phone to the EP.

    More than one malware scanner?

Spybot slows your PC down considerably, albeit a good program. Since I removed it, my netbook flies!

Replacement eye cups for a Nikon binocular (where to buy)

Avian do them with 'wings'. Would they be a replacement?

    The Guardian: Chris Packham

I'm pretty sure that those living outside the UK cannot access iPlayer. I know that our US cousins cannot get to see Sky at Night on it

I'd consider paying my taxes to see that! :D

    The Guardian: Chris Packham

That's the chap! Apologies for forgetting his name! His camera work is fantastic. His narration sends me to sleep! RIP Steve Irwin. One of a kind - completely nuts but so passionate and endlessly watchable.

    The Guardian: Chris Packham

Let's not forget Steve Backshall. He might be cutting his teeth with Deadly 60 on children's Tv but he is very knowledgable. I do enjoy Bill Oddie on TV too and I think Kate Humble was better paired with him. Iain Stewart is excellent as well. I do enjoy Chris Packham as well. His Tweets are...

    My first scope: etx70

The ETX is a good scope! It is especially good with GOTO capabilities on the night sky. As it is a fairly fast scope, you'll have some good views with it. For excellent EPs, I have found that BSTs (sometimes called Paradigms) are very good I use a set with an ETX 80 and a fast newtonian. You...

"Worlds Best Birding Binocular ?" Lately much discussed.

Ask 1,000 people and you'll get 1,000 different answers. The simple answer is the bins that you actually use! :D

What is the least common bird in the world (by todays statistics))

According to this quarter's 'Waterlife' magazine, there are only 22 Madagascar pochards left in the wild, all on one lake. That must make it a pretty strong contender?

    Kindle

I must admit, I'd be tempted to get it from the New and Used traders on Amazon. A new copy for £7.60 including p&p. But I do love my Kindle, so would be pleased to see other results.

    binos for a 4 1/2 year old

The ELC do some but they aren't great. RSPB do a pair too,but I've not looked thru them. I bought a pair of Bresser/Meade 10x50 for my 5 1/2 yr old boy from Lidle or Aldi for £20 but they are too big and heavy. He's settled on my Option WP PC 8x42 roofs instead! Means I been to find a new pair!

    Cetacean sighting website?

Not a website, but if you Twittering and follow @marinelife you get good updates. They also re-tweet other followers who tweet their views. In next to no time you can get a pretty comprehensive group of people to follow and up to date info.
