    Hi Folks, this had along white tip to P10 and a band on one P5 and a smudge on the other P5.Long grey tongues , with white tips, on P6-P8. At times looked very leggy and long-necked, other times it looked more Herring Gull like. Taken in England, a hybrid maybe, or just an odd HG...

    Presumed intermedius LBB. UK September.

    Thanks Lou, it was certainly a very eye-catching bird,particularly size-wise.Interestingly it turned up with the first big arrival of Common Gulls of the Autumn, a couple of which had Norwegian colour-rings. . cheers, Pete

    I came across this quite striking presumed intermedius Lesser Black-backed Gull in Northern England in September.Would the obvious moult contrast in the primaries point at a 3CY bird? cheers,

    Far East Cruise Beijing to Singapore then on to Thailand

    Interesting stuff Dave, the Watercock pic is great. The Mynas you have photo`d in Singapore are Javan Mynas, with the exception of the Hill Myna in the tree.

    Hi folks, had this interesting looking gull today. Very Iceland Gull like structurally( short legs, domed head, small bill etc) with large white primary tips and a very white underside to the primaries. A small argentatus perhaps or some Northern hybrid maybe?
