    Bartley reservoir

Does anyone know if Bartley reservoir is being watched by anyone on a daily basis. Or if it is being watched regularly at all. I've been over there several times over the last couple of months and up until now I haven't encountered another birder. But anyway, Bartley this evening: 137 LBB...

    Which information service

Over the past fifteen years I've used the information services of both Rare Bird Alert and Birdnet, and their pagers. For the past couple of years, because of illness, I haven't had a pager and my birding has been very limited. However, I'm now back up and running and looking forward to adding...

    Hirrundine numbers

Is it just here in the Midlands or is there a distinctive lack of hirrundines all over Britain so far this year. Belvide, Chasewater, Blithfield, Gailey all seem to be reporting well below average numbers for the time of year. Any similar observations on your patch?

    Playa Blanca, Lanzarote - 15-22/03/09

As darkness fell I phoned the news in to Rare Bird Alert and a few minutes later had a call back from one of the team...

    Las Vegas

After years of birding while on holiday in Europe my wife has decided she wants to go to Las Vegas next year. I appreciate its a city environment surrounded by desert but what birds am I likely to see while over there.

    Playa Blanca, Lanzarote

I've just returned from a week at Playa Blanca, Lanzarote (9th-16th November 2008) and had some pretty good birding over the week without leaving the resort. It would appear that the Rubicon plain which lies either side of the main road out of the resort back towards the airport has been noted...

    Newby from Staffs

Hello everyone. Didn't even know this site existed, came across it by accident when searching for sea-watching sites on the Isle of Skye. Anyway I'm a Staffordshire based birder who has been watching the local reservoirs for the last twenty three years.
