    Thank you for the comments........Yes I did use high speed sync on the flash. (I always do) I have it mounted on an old tripod head. I have a piece of plywood cut to fit a window. I cut a hole for the lens and that way I can sit inside where it's warm. I have the flash mounted outside, on...

    Hovering Sparrow

    I prefocused my lens just to the right of my feeder and switched it to manual focus. When the feeder was a bit crowded, the birds would hover for just a second. I started firing and eventually caught one of the little fellas in the right spot.

    Critique please, "Canada Goose"

    Linda I think your exposure is pretty darned close to being right on the money. A polarizer might help the colors a bit, but I think the answer really is to try these types of shots either early of late in the day. The bright sunshine tends to wash out the colors. I think it's a very nice shot.
