    All things White-tailed Eagle

I realise now where you are coming from now, because I follow the project. One Golden eagle from Scotland was poisoned in Donegal and word got out to the Scottish shooting estates and they complained that the Irish were killing ALL eagles. It was reported in Irish and Scottish papers. Total...

    All things White-tailed Eagle

They are actually isolated incidents. I'm sorry but you really do seem to have an irrational aggression towards this project. I wonder what your agenda is, and also is it suitable for this forum.

    All things White-tailed Eagle

Well actually nirofo I don't believe the biggest problem facing eagles in Scotland are sheep farmers. It is the shooting estates that are killing all your birds of prey, from what I have read on the subject. In Ireland, Pheasant and Partridge hunting is mainly confined to the east of of the...

    All things White-tailed Eagle

There is a big difference between Ireland and Scotland and that is we don't have shooting estates here. This is why it will be successful in my opinion. Also the birds of prey are not, in general, deliberately killed here, unlike in Scotland.

    All things White-tailed Eagle

nirofo- Its not as bad as all that From what I have read about the project it seems to me that local farmers are not dead set against it. And are in fact happy that the eagles are there. I think more awareness of the eagles and new legislation to ban the use of poison will ultimately lead to...

Where to go in Ireland in August?

If in the Kerry area Skellig Island is worth a visit for a family day out(and some birds). Its a pretty spectacular place. I think Puffins can be seen there until mid august. Also there is a huge Gannet colony and other seabirds.

    Magpies kill a Sparrowhawk

I recently watched an awful video of a Sparrowhawk eating a Magpie alive. It was terrible to listen to the screeching of the Magpie, I believe Magpies are very intelligent and it was suffering terribly. Nice to hear about the revenge mission
