Nice one with the Weasel, just out of interest. Where did you have it? I had one in the RSPB meadow near the carved viewing screen a week or so ago.

Both of those reports (and all previous records) are from the same observer and relate to the grid square over the RSPB centre. Obviously no Tree Sparrows exist on the reserve, nor anywhere in WM county (presumed extinct). This observer has reported them multiple times, however funnily enough...

This evening on the reserve. Made myself a task to finally find the Hobby on the east side. On walking to the hide, a juv Coal Tit was feeding in trees on the corner of the concrete road and east track. Having heard that the Hobby had been perched earlier in the day around the hide, we headed...

Moors Red-crested Pochard showing well this evening, snoozing close inshore on the west side. A single 2s Med Gull perched briefly on the rails in front of the concrete hide- compared to the birds seen later, this was probably a 3rd bird to the resident pair on primary pattern. Sadly no activity...

A very bright and hot visit to both sides of the reserve this evening. Many birds hunkered down behind vegetation making counting difficult. Moors Viewing from the west track, both Mediterranean Gull chicks looked be be developing well. Both looked very advanced now, fully feathered and should...

Nice evening visiting both sides of the reserve. Some nice views of both Med Gull chicks at the Moors Pool. Occasionally on view from the Water rail 'concrete' hide. Lots of flapping, wing stretching and getting fairly old now. Should be able to fly in the next few days! Another highlight was...

The swifts flew low north over the north moors plantation while I was chatting with Tim in the carpark, rather than the flashes. The Med Gulls and Ruff were also at the moors, with no sign of any in the roost this evening. Good numbers/ range of ducks scattered around the reserve this evening...

Moors- As has been stated. Lots of bird activity here. Highlight goes to the Jack Snipe, still on the peninsular, trying its best to hide among the vegetation (The bird was in the very vibrant new growth reeds in the middle on the peninsular behind the domed gravel island in Amys Marsh). Our...

What an evening! Dropped into the Moors Pool briefly. 9 Pochard, Cettis, 4 Gadwall and 2 Shelduck, but didnt make it to the hide. Met Matt S on the causeway before heading down to the flashes for the roost. We had just walked in, set up, with a few Gulls already assembled. Mostly BHG but around...
