Thanks Andrew - shame about the Becard, but I half knew it wasn't - it was too far from the Becard nest that was in the area!

South East Arizona, April 4th 2021

I just spent a fantastic 3 days in South East Arizona. Over 1000 images taken! On day 1 I spent time in Tubac, on the De Anza Trail, then to Madera Canyon. These IDs are giving me some problems (back story, I am color blind and find some IDs very challenging). Can anyone hep with these IDs...

    Picture Bird App

I always have trouble with correct IDs because I am color blind. No matter how many other distinguishing features of a bird I look at, color always plays an important part. For that reason I post after nearly every outing in the Bird ID thread, so that I can maintain an honest record of my...

    Phoenix, Arizona Nov 1

The only other images I got from this immediate area were of female and juvenile yellow rumped warblers. I don't suppose this could be the juvenile?

Hello all, I am really struggling with this - my color blindness shows me this as all grey, but my wife tells me differently. From her description I wonder if this is a Ruby-crowned Kinglet. Anyone confirm for me please?

Thank you both for the information... I consider it a huge success that I only had one "unknown" this time and that my id skills appear to be getting better!!

Thank you - I appreciate the compliment and the ID. Not sure that it helps, but this was in the same area, and I had initially ID'd this as a Savannah Sparrow.

Thank you all so much - turned out with 54 species photographed. This is the last of the unknowns - thanks for all the help!! I think the last is a Say's Phoebe, but again, my color blindness is playing in to the question and I am not sure if I can see mottling down the chest.

    Tucson Arizona

Thank you both - my color-blindness is obviously not as much of an issue as my inaccurate sparrow and wren identification. Looks like I will end up with close to 60 photographed species from this trip - with some more that I can't ID. Thanks.

Good morning all, A few taken from a trip to Tucson Sweetwater Wetlands this week. Trying to make my own IDs but confused by these. I was with another photographer who was coming up with other IDs to mine. If I go with his, I can add to my life-list, but want to keep myself honest 1) I think...

I appreciate the help - can't believe I did not spot #1 in the guide when I was going through it last night! Stood out like a sore thumb when I knew what to look for! #2 is an awful image, so will not be surprised if no ID is forthcoming. #3 - I struggle with this one... one of my downfalls is...
