Using a Viewfinder/LCD Hood with SX-50 Sorry it has taken awhile to get back on this. The hood/viewfinder comes with a tripod screw, two brackets, a carry lanyard which secures by a metal ring behind the rubber eyepiece (I removed this) and a padded bag/case. The eyepiece provides 3.4x...

Grahame, Yes, I noticed that. However, it looks to me that there is a bit of latitude afforded by the "rail" style mount where the eyepiece mounts to the adapter. Bit of a gamble, but I bought from Amazon, so if it doesnt work out, I'll return it! I'll keep you posted.

I have an Xit XTLCDMVL Professional Viewfinder waiting for me when I get home tomorrow. I wear vari-focal specs and have a terrible time using the EVF. I have taken some good (for me) photos with my SX-50, but have also missed quite a few due to the miniscule EVF and the less than satisfactory...

First "keeper" with SX-50 This is my first "keeper" shot with my new SX-50. White-crowned sparrow. My main issue so far is "getting on" the bird with the EVF. Also having issues with handheld at full zoom - not as stable as I used to be! Anyway, I am pretty pleased with this shot, it is...

Thanks Bob! I didn't even think that the zoom factor would be one of the saved settings! Works great now! On my FZ-35 there was a setting "telephoto" that would make the lens go to full zoom on power on - I was looking for something like that. Thanks again. Ian

    Canon SX50 Specs

Well, I received my SX50 yesterday! I have had a little time to play around with it but nothing serious yet. As this is primarily for bird photography I have found one thing that is annoying. When I dial from one mode to another (e.g. Auto to C1) the lens retracts all the way back! I have...

    Canon SX50 Specs

Well, I just pulled the trigger (or is that shutter release?) and ordered an SX-50 to replace my Lumix FZ-35. Looking forward to seeing how well it performs. Based on what I have read here, this should fit nicely. Happy B'Day to me!
