    RSPB Middleton Lakes

    I've never had much luck with the LSW at Middleton but I was told by the RSPB guy in the car park it's often seen in the large Oak in the small field by the farmhouse on the way to the woodland walk,the bushes/trees separating reserve and canal good for Whitethroats,Blackcaps etc,good luck...

    No Jack Snipe today but still had a nice afternoon,green & g s woodpecker,l redpoll,l egret,sprawk,usual ducks,thrushes,finches,1 water rail in ditch along the canal,another in ditch next to carpark and finished off with a Barn Owl in field next to carpark at dusk...Nice...

    Had Peregrine and Kingfisher and 3 Buzzards circling,all over the Heronry pool today.(not at the same time).

    I'm not trying to put a dampner on the project but just can't see it lasting long especially if it's full of glass,the reserve is looking excellent by the way.
