Red-necked or Little Stint? XinJiang, Western China. (1 Viewer)

stint id.

Hi,
suspect you have both there looking at the shapes of covert centres of the foreground bird. Many other visual clues for the experts to ponder as well!

Askar,

It's an adult Little Stint (front) with two juveniles behind. Note extensive rufous tones to upper parts including tertial fringes and less contrast between mantle/scaps and coverts, pale mantle 'V's, streaked ear-coverts, white throat and different breast pattern etc compared to adult RNS.

Scroll down to 27th August and compare this adult RNS from August.
