Raptor seen at Sutton Park over heathland. As i saw it, it had just flew from an isolated tree and i only saw the back of it. Crow(ish) sized. Quite broad wings that were pointed (no "fingers").Short straight edged tail. Very slow wingbeats. Back and wings a red/brown colour, and tail red.

Time to start asking local falconers if they've lost anything - it doesn't sound right for any native raptor. The closest native is juvenile Kestrel, and that'd be smaller, longer tailed, and the tail more brown than red.
