Presentable Yuck Duck (1 Viewer)

Finlayson

Nowadays I prefer a glass of wine.
From Pitsford reservoir today.

This hybrid reminds me of Mallard and Aylesbury, for a hybrid it is actually a rather presentable bird.

All comments on ancestry are as usual greatly appreciated from the forum.

Many thanks,

John Finlayson.

Well, it's not a hybrid, it's a pure Mallard (Anas platyrhynchos). Nearly all domestic ducks are different breeds of Mallards, and thus the same species. As to what breeds are involved in these birds, I've not idea.

Thank you all for your input, much appreciated.

OK, it was an error to call it a Hybrid, thank you Fugl for the link.

So I will call it a Mallard variant ...... my sentiment however still holds true in that I still think it is an unusual and presentable variant of the species.

Cheers,

John Finlayson.
