...looks a Cacomantis cuckoo - confused by the brown head. Will try and find time later, I need books for this one.

It just about has to be Cacomantis passerinus - the plumage is highly variable. Some mention of the female sometimes with a brown head - perhaps this is age-related.

When was the photo shot? Race querulus of C. merulinus may also be a scarse visitor to the island in winter.

Nice pic. Must be cacomantis, but not sure it is hepatic grey-bellied. I attach pics of hepatic female grey-bellied cuckoo that I had here in Kathmandu few times last summer. It does not have the greyish back yours has. Juvenile is again more mottled. Could not find that greyish back in books for passerinus or other cacomantis. That said, mine also has a much more full red head and throat than what many books have. Do male hepatic ones exist? Maybe google image shows some cacomantis like yours?
