Found this site, offering Fujinon 12x32 image-stabilised bnos for under 600 sterling. I´m not recommending them, I´ve never seen a pair, but they may be of interest:

From what I've read on other forums, the type of stabilization the Fujis and Nikons use is not the best for birding, but rather made for boating.

That is, better for correcting pendulum sway than hand micro-vibrations.

Also, that 2.6mm exit pupil is too small for Cloudy Valley.

One thing that Monk has that's unique is the Cyclops spotting scopes, but I haven't read any reviews:
