Opticron HR66 GA ED with SDL Eyepiece (1 Viewer)

I've been out today with my new scope and find I have a problem which I'm interested to find if anyone else has come across.
I use glasses and have the eye relief down at the bottom, I've found that with this combination I am getting what looks like a semi circular reflection in the eyepiece when looking through. If I try without my glasses and with the eye relief adjusted accordingly it is perfect. Have tried an HDF eyepiece from my mate and no problem, so he tried my eyepiece on his scope and had the same problem. Apart from this problem the image is very good. I'm going to take it to the Birdfair next weekend for Opticron to see but am interested if anyone else has had this problem.

Thanks.

Phil

I use an SDL eyepiece on my GS52 ED scope and also wear specs. I find that best views are achieved with the eyecup about half way up. Like you I get reflections if the eyecup is right down. It's odd as I've been used to having to get my spec lenses as close to the eyepiece as possible with previous scopes.
Only time I put the cups right down is when I'm digiscoping with the adapter.

Keith, thanks, that worked with me. Think I will bring it up with Opticron, doesnt seem right to me as it didn't happen on my mates scope, not same model as mine. Also reduces the fov quite dramatically.

I haven't found the FOV reduced that much with mine, mind reading on the Opticron website they are bringing out a new version of the SDL to coincide with Birdfair. This seems to have less eyerelief than the original SDL so maybe they have already taken on board the problem.
