Little Tern Eggs stolen (1 Viewer)

I just posted the same article in Conservation forum (not sure of appropriate place either)...pretty sad to hear this.

Egg collectors are the scum of the earth at the best of times. To take 50 eggs can only mean they've been stolen for sale and there should be a trail back to those others who 'collect'. I'm not daft enough to put money on just one person being caught - and having his ( I've never heard of a female egger ) wrists slapped with a pathetic fine.

I put it in Bird News from around the world, as well, not having seen the other posts.

Dreadful behaviour.

They sell legally collected Gulls eggs, usually from Black-headed Gull colonies ( I think Needs Oar Point is one of the colonies in which collecting is licenced, in the UK ). How many restaurants know the difference between Gull and Tern eggs? None I should think.
