Hi!

Any ideas on these?

1. Greenshank?
2. ? No idea, very non descript
3. ? Not a bird I know, but I don't have an insect ID book

the duck is a Teal, agree on Greenshank, no idea on the dragonfly - some kind of Darter I think

Thank you. Pleased with Greenshank, possibly rarest bird I've yet seen (beginner here). All the ducks (there were lots of them) were the same - where were the males I wonder.

Excellent. The male ducks are mostly in eclipse plumage now so look like the females

It's a Common Darter.

Ruddy Darter is brighter red, and with a broader abdomen with a couple of small black spots near the tip.

Agree with Andy, the Dragonfly is a Ruddy Darter showing all black legs.

Common darter for me. It's not got the waisted look, there's no yellow at the base of the wings, and I think I can see the diagnostic pale stripe on the hindmost left leg.
