Attracting New Species (1 Viewer)

Hello,

Iam a young birder who enjoys to look at new diffrent birds. Its frustrating when all I ever find are a few finches and the ever popular and boring Robins.Does anyone have any tips for attracting new birds?

Peter,
The best way to see new birds is to go to some new locations / habitats. As far as attracting different birds to a home feeder, I'd try adding different types of feeders - suet feeders / thistle / hummingbird feeders, etc.
Good luck,

To find different birds (animals) you have to visit different habitats. Sometimes they're extremely picky, and you have to go to very specific locations where the conditions are just right.

Agree with Steve and Dave, on the feeding. It is amazing how many different birds you can get when you have a mixture of feed out. Finches like one feed, Hummers (of course) another, Orioles like their oranges, etc, etc.
When you get new feed don't get discouraged if you don't see new species right away, they will come.
