It's a red-tail (you can see the red tail).
Not on my monitor, you can't. But, agree, it's a Red-tail.

I appreciate everyone's help. I enlarged it and did see red in the tail. That is one huge hawk, he must be eating everything in Texas!

Agree, the same situation here. When I enlarge the photo at most I can see "darkbrown" in the tail.

Speak softly and carry a long lens
It's definitely there, but you may have to adjust the contrast settings on your monitor to see it. Mine has a "game mode" that works like a contrast mask (brightens the inky shadows (where an enemy player might be hiding)); in that mode the red is obvious. With standard settings, I can tell it's not anything else (no stripes or anything) but it's too dark to be called red.
