Hi Sean,

The following method will work providing you have the file numbering set to continuous and you have not reset it to zero at any time.

Review your last image on the monitor. In the top right-hand corner will be a file number, e.g. 100-3468. The first number (100) indicates folder number 1; the second number (3468) indicates the image number within that folder. From this you can tell that the camera has taken 3468 shots. This numbering system goes up to 9999 then changes to 200-0001 and so on.

Hope this helps. It is explained on pages 72 and 73 in the camera manual.

To get the actual Camera actuations there is a free downloadable program from astrojargon. You just connect the camera to the PC and from the EOS utilities directory, click on 'get count'.
The image number from your last shot is not necessarily accurate, especially if you have used different cards in the camera.
