Thanks Nick. The black paint looks blacker on the scan than in my sketchbook - I actually used Ultramarine and Burnt Sienna to mix the black.

Nice to see you sploshing some paints around VB!!

I can't see why you shouldn't be happy with them, but if you recognize an area where you can improve upon and learn from then good for you.

I am still alive but life has caught up with me a bit recently - changing jobs, arranging to go back to Ecuador and so on.
Hoping to go birding tomorrow and come back with sketches...
