I've been meaning to post this ages ago but kept forgeting.
Last autumn walking the dog a group of Magpies took flight from the field we were in, counting Magpies as I always do I got to 18 when another group took off just a bit further on. I just couldn't count them fast enough but at a conservative estimate I would say 28 to 33. I never heard of this before, obviously I've seen other members of the crow family in large groups but never Magpies.

Used to have a big group like that in the little tree'd area near my old workplace. Started off with a couple but as the months went by more and more gathered there until there was a great flock of them. Amazing sight!
