Gravel Pits on A50 (1 Viewer)

As you come off the M1 going along the A50 towards Derby, after 3miles or so (just before Shardlow) are a series of gravel pits. Couldn't stop on the road but they certainly look good for waders. Do any of you Derby boys Daniel M, Dave N or any other 'bird' there and are they any good.:t:

Yes they are good but strictly private... any encroachment by birders will result in a visit from the local constabulary..... a very few lucky souls have permits. The only viewing is off the side of the A50 at that layby affair.

DOS have a warning on the website etc too

Ah, my old local patch - Shardlow Gravel Pits!
I can still remember seeing the Ortolan Bunting, Tawny Pipit and double figures of Little Egret as if it was yesterday. Just a shame we used to get chased around or had to hide from the local authorities half of the time!
