Bassenthwaite Ospreys 2015 (1 Viewer)

A mate rang me to say that he had seen them mating around 3.30!!

Great news, the The Esthwaite birds have also arrived apparently.

Cheers

The Esthwaite birds have arrived, the Male has been taking fish and twigs up to the nest all day today. One fish looked to be almost as long as he is and one of the twigs looked to be twice as long as he is.

A few pictures of the male carrying fish and twigs, I may have more later, the first is a massive crop as he was so far away.

Edit.

These are from Esthwaite.

Is it me? I cannot get a webcam view of the Bassenthwaite ospreys from this year. All I can see is a very old series of images from last year with the instruction to refresh the screen. Is this just a poor feed or has the address changed or am I doing something wrong?

In fact the whole lakes site looks very poor in comparison to (for example) Rutland.

I do not think that Bassenthwaite has ever had a streaming webcam. It always had a picture every ten minutes or so.

However the ospreys have moved nest twice and that has upset any webcam facility.

No news of a second egg yet, on either the Lake District Osprey Watch page or their Facebook feed! Has anyone heard any news elsewhere, as I'm updating the news on Birdforum's Opus page for Bassenthwaite Lake, which also has lots of information on the viewpoints at Bassenthwaite, with access and facilities.

No egg that I am aware of. They were suggesting on Twitter on Wednesday that it was looking likely. I pointed out that it was far too early and they agreed.
