Has anyone experimented with colored filters on their Pentax scope for reducing haze? I conduct hawk migration counts, and am thinking of getting a colored filter (e.g., Yellow #21) in the hope that this might attenuate glare from some of that ever-present haze at my watchsite. I've been told that Skylight filters don't offer a significant enough difference to justify the cost of a quality filter. Polarizers require constant adjustment and are too dependent on their orientation to the sun to be effective at all angles; and it's been my experience that otherwise visible birds will even disappear against a blue sky when the polarizer is applied. I'm willing to accept unnatural color on bright days so long as it helps me nab some distant birds (where color isn't at all apparent anyway). Any thoughts or recommendations?
