Odd Herring Gull Durham UK

Hi,

Noticed this Gull in Durham along the River Wear today among Herring and Lesser Black Backed Gulls. It looks like a Herring Gull but the eye is "softer" and it was significantly smaller (see first photo for comparison with Herring Gull). The bill shape also looks slightly different as well as the head shape.
